When I hear about an effective witnessing strategy, I teach it to anyone who is interested. In recent years I learned about an outreach method called Disciple-Making Movements (DMM). Since 1994, DMM has converted 114 million men, women and children. Is this news too good to be true, or too wonderful to ignore?
I’m convinced that DMM stands in a class by itself. I wrote Disciple Maker to inform you about the Disciple-Making Movement that Jesus launched 2000 years ago, so that you can fulfill your destiny in it.

Chapter 1. Jesus Christ: Disciple Maker
Learning about Disciple-Making Movements will enhance any outreach methods you already use. Yet the purpose of this book is not merely for you to adopt DMM, but for you to meet Jesus as the Disciple Maker. In the classroom of daily life He will equip you to make disciples where you live.
Chapter 2. Am I Disciple Material?
Do you ever wonder: “Do I have what it takes to be a disciple of Jesus?” The truth is that all Jesus’ disciples are misfits. Yet despite our inadequacies, through the Father’s forgiveness, the Savior’s blood, and the Spirit’s indwelling presence, God reshapes us to fit into His plan to make disciples of all nations.
Chapter 3. Present-Day Disciples
Jesus is still making disciples. In 1990, of 100 million Bhojpuri in northern India, only 10,000 confessed Christ. Today they number millions!
The disciple-making methods used with the Bhojpuris, drawn from Matthew 10 and Luke 10, have spread across the globe. So, why not your neighborhood too?
Chapter 4. Who Is the Leader?
If the effectiveness of an evangelism method depends on its leader, many would say: “I’m not qualified to lead.”
But what if a witnessing method didn’t require you to be an expert with all the answers? In fact, you wouldn’t be the leader at all. Consider the surprising brilliance of Discovery Bible Study.
Chapter 5. Reading the Bible with Know-Nothings
Since 1994, millions of people have come to faith by participating in a Discovery Bible Study group — even if none of them were Christians when they began the study. You might wonder: How could a group of know-nothings reading the Bible ever become disciples of Jesus Christ?
Chapter 6. Discovery Bible Texts
In a Discovery Bible Study (DBS) seekers read and discuss Bible stories that establish them on the solid bedrock of history. The group begins to identify with the Jews of Bible times, and they long for the arrival of the promised Savior. And when they see Jesus, they are utterly amazed, and He wins their hearts.
Chapter 7. Discovery Session Format
Let’s take a guided tour through an entire Discovery Bible Study session. When a group internalizes God’s Word, shares His Word, and seeks to obey it, marvelous things occur. They gradually discover who Jesus is and can’t resist following Him.
Chapter 8. Like Wildfire
How do Discovery Bible Study groups spread like wildfire and become Disciple Making Movements in which thousands and even millions follow Jesus?
In the West, Bible study groups don’t proliferate like that. Learn what DBS groups do differently.
Chapter 9. What About Follow-Up?
Many witnessing methods overlook follow-up, and converts fail to mature spiritually. When you employ Disciple Making Movements and Discovery Bible Study as your evangelism strategy, you get both quantitative growth (new disciples) and qualitative growth (doing what Jesus commanded).
Chapter 10. Sheep among Wolves
As culture wars rage in the USA and elsewhere, the threat of persecution increases. Can believers in Christ survive and even multiply under harsh conditions? The recent history of Disciple-Making Movements proves how we can thrive.
Chapter 11. Discovery Bible Study In Your Home
Parents pass faith in Jesus to their children. While the Church weakens in the West, elsewhere Discovery Bible Study (DBS) is helping millions to follow Christ.
Could DBS ignite living faith in your home? Consider how DBS differs from typical family devotions.
Chapter 12. Find Your Person of Peace
Jesus, the Disciple Maker, told His disciples to look for “a person of peace.” This isn’t hunting for a needle in a haystack, because God is already preparing individuals to receive the Good News. Learn how to find and cultivate a person of peace.
Chapter 13. Discovery Bible Study In Your Church
Every oak tree was once a little nut that held its ground. Jesus came to build close-knit Kingdom communities which start small but grow in majesty over time. Learn how from churches doing so today.
Chapter 14. Walking with the Disciple Maker
Is making disciples simple like checkers, or is it complex like chess? Actually, the way Jesus makes disciples is even more intricate than the 3-D chess portrayed in episodes of Star-Trek and Big Bang Theory.
To play “Making Disciples” the way that Jesus did, a brainy IQ is not required. Want to learn how?
Chapter 15. Fellow Disciples and Resources
Believers actively involved in Disciple-Making Movements share their experiences and insights in many helpful resources. Sample the list of useful sources.
