Pray for Strays

In Boston on April 28-30, will occur an event promoted as “a weekend of blasphemy” and the “largest Satanic gathering in history.” May Christ’s followers bathe it in a month of compassionate prayer for lost sheep who mistakenly seek shelter in Satan’s fold.

Lord God, who sets the prisoners free, we intercede with compassion for the souls of those who will gather to blaspheme Your holy name. Like sheep without a shepherd, they fear the future. Desperate for power to control their destiny, they have mistakenly sought shelter in Satan’s fold.

Jesus, Good Shepherd, pierce the cloud of the Liar’s lies with Your truth, grace and agape love. ‘Balaam’ everything that is proclaimed at this event, turning curses into praises. In Your powerful name and by Your blood shed on the cross, destroy every stronghold of Satan, and cast out the seven demons who are more wicked than the first.

Holy Spirit, may attendees, deflated and emptied of pride in their impiety, long for liberation. Guide to us these demoniacs-transformed-into-persons-of-peace, so that we may quench their thirst with Jesus’ promise:

“Everyone who drinks, this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”

John 4:13-14 NIV

Refreshed, freed, and in their right minds, may every legion-enslaved demoniac go home to report to their loved ones and neighbors how much You have done for them, and how You have had mercy on them.

May this be so, to the praise of Your glory!
